Here's how we save our elections
<[link removed]>
Hi Friend,

Lest we become a stereotype of one of the countless companies now flooding
your inbox to tell you how we’re responding to coronavirus concerns, let us get
to the point: we’re working to save our elections.

The Unite America Institute released a white paper today that details what
federal, state, and local officials must do to expandvote at home in their
state.

We’ve already started to see the horrible effects this pandemic is causing to
our cultural institutions, our economy, and to so many peoples’ livelihoods.
But our electoral systems will also be impacted by these concerns.

Right now, expanding access to vote at home is the single most important step
we can take to ensure all voters stay safe and healthy while voting. If we’re
going to “flatten the curve”, we must include ways that are proven safe,
secure, and effective for voting.

To force Americans to decide between staying healthy and exercising their
right to vote is irresponsible at best and negligent at worst. Especially for
our elderly and immunocompromised populations, the decision is untenable.

It’s one of the many reasons that we continually advocate for vote at home
<[link removed]>. We cannot predict
the national emergencies that may strike during an election. Vote at home
ensures that voters still have the ability to vote, even if they can’t show up
to their polling place on election day.

Our elected officials must do what’s best for their citizens, our democracy,
and our society right now. The health of millions depends on it.

Best,

Brett
