It's Energy Week in the House of Representatives, and our focus this week has been on passing legislation to unleash American energy independence by reducing burdensome regulations and supporting innovation and development. Energy costs under this Administration are through the roof. Today's average gas price in Orange County is $4.96/gallon. In Los Angeles, the price is $5.00.
This is not sustainable, and Congress must act to relieve the pressure on American families. That's why I proudly voted for the following pro-energy policies this week:
H.R. 6009 – Restoring American Energy Dominance Act
H.R. 1121 – Protecting American Energy Production Act
H.R. 1023– Cutting Green Corruption and Taxes Act
H.Res. 987 – Denouncing the harmful, anti-American energy policies of the Biden administration
H.Con.Res. 86 – Expressing the sense of Congress that a carbon tax would be detrimental to the United States economy.
I'm committed to bringing down costs for hardworking Southern Californians and ensuring American energy security through an all-of-the-above approach. That's why I'm working with Rep. Susie Lee (D-NV) to pass legislation to tap into the potential of geothermal energy production in Southern California. This bill will help unleash American energy independence by ensuring geothermal energy can be developed more easily in the United States, creating jobs and boosting the economies of cities and small towns, including those in California.
