Hi John,

Today is World Water Day, an annual observance that celebrates the importance of freshwater.

Nothing is more critical to life than water, which is why I designed water and sanitation systems as an engineer, worked as an environmental planner for a regional water agency, and focused my legal studies on Water Law.

Here in Oregon, we know just how important freshwater is to sustaining our farms, communities, and ecosystems. I’m proud to serve all Oregonians on the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board and co-chair OWEB’s Water and Climate Committee.

As we face a growing climate crisis and extreme weather events, we need leaders in Congress with a proven commitment to protecting our environment and providing communities with the support they need. If you’re with me, can you chip in to our people-powered campaign today?

In Congress, I will continue the work I’m doing on behalf of Oregonians to protect our water resources and work for a just transition to a green economy that provides us with the sustainable energy we need to both run our economy AND protect our planet. This is a time for real solutions -- and that’s not the representation Oregonians currently have in the 5th congressional district.

Freshwater makes up only 3% of all water on Earth, and is basic to our survival. We must elect leaders who understand this and are committed to safeguarding this precious resource. Please contribute what you can to help me take this message to Congress.

Thank you,

Jamie
