Between the Denver County Assembly and talking with voters across the city, it’s been a busy March so far at Team Walsh. You can check out more of what I’ve been up to below!
Last Saturday, I joined delegates across Denver and won the DA’s race vote, which put me on the top line for the June Primary ballot. I’m extremely thankful for everyone who supported me at the Precinct Caucuses and Assembly.
Earlier in March, I attended an event for the Reproductive Freedom Initiative with COBALT President Karen Middleton and Attorney General Phil Weiser. It’s crucial that we protect women’s right to choose in Colorado’s Constitution and set an example for states across the country.
I also had the pleasure of attending the Urban Leadership Foundation, an organization founded by Mayor Wellington Webb and committed to helping improve the social and professional trajectory of black leaders by training and exemplifying effective leadership.
I had the chance to swing by HD1 and, on Sunday, attended the Ralston House annual dinner with former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter and 17th JD District Attorney Brian Mason. Ralston House is a safe place to investigate child abuse and ensure victim services for children who have been physically or sexually abused — such a noble and important cause to support and protect victims of crime.
And, of course, it was great to attend the House District 8 caucuses and see democracy in action. We got to hear from candidates up and down the ballot, and hear from Rep. Leslie Herod, who has been such a strong leader on behalf of the community.
I had a chance to tour the IBEW’s apprenticeship facility and enjoyed the discussion with union members from across Denver and the Metro area.
It’s been incredible to meet with so many leaders in our community and, most importantly, Denver voters so we can talk about the issues that matter most to them. Since day one, this campaign has been about your safety and improving our community’s criminal justice system so it works for everyone.
