A woman and a child drinking water from a tap. Text: World Water Day

Hi friend,

This is the 31st annual World Water Day — a global day for taking action to provide safe water to the over 2 billion people who still live without it. But this year, it might be more important than ever before.

Climate change is exacerbating the global water crisis, and causing deadly waterborne diseases like cholera to spike. We’re acting urgently to scale our unique safe water interventions – which are based on evidence that shows water treatment prevents one in four deaths of children under five.

Below, we’ve rounded up stories that will give you a unique perspective on the fight for safe water for all, and how our Safe Water Now program is making a significant impact (including an exciting update in Kenya).

Ready to take action? Celebrate World Water Day with a gift to our Safe Water Now Fund. Less than $1.50 provides lifesaving safe water access to one person for one year. That means if you give $100 today, you could help at least 150 people access water that safeguards their health, instead of endangering it, for an entire year.
