That’s because more media attention is on campaigns in the last few days, and folks are motivated to make a donation. A LOT of money can be raised in a short amount of time.

The downside is that last minute fundraising can be really hard to plan for. We need to be talking to swing voters much earlier than a week or two before they head to the polls. Sometimes, that big fundraising surge is just too late.
