Young or Old, We Must Be Heroes of Action

From the outside, the Bletchley Park estate gave every impression of a gentle and well-heeled, idyllic English home — which was exactly why Admiral Sir Hugh Sinclair purchased the property in May of 1938.
Only Sinclair, who was head of Great Britain’s Secret Intelligence Service (SIS or MI6), didn’t buy the Gothic Tudor mansion for its luxury or promise of leisure. Instead, he bought it as an unassuming location to house and host “codebreakers” — individuals tasked with deciphering intercepted enemy messages that threatened the country’s sovereignty and safety.
It was from Bletchley Park on October 21, 1941, that a now famous letter arrived on the desk of Sir Winston Churchill. The codebreakers were pleading with the prime minister for more personnel and resources.
Holding the letter in his hand, Churchill decided quickly. They would receive what they wanted and needed. To punctuate the affirmation, Churchill affixed to his order a red label that would be used throughout the duration of the war. It read: “ACTION THIS DAY!”

New Research Shows Family Dinner Time Still Has Rich Benefits

With life’s busy schedules, many may assume regular family dinners are largely a thing of the past. But new research from family scholars indicates that getting the family together around the dinner table to enjoy a meal flavored with unrushed conversations is still a very good idea.
Scholars at the Institute for Family Studies (IFS) examined the academic research on the importance of family dinners over the last few decades and conclude family dinners “offer an especially valuable chance for family members to come together to share the day’s highs and lows, discuss personal issues, current events, and big questions of the day, and generally enjoy each other’s company.”
This dedicated time together yields real, measurable benefits for your children. IFS states, “Some research even finds that frequently eating meals with family members can reduce a child’s likelihood of substance use, violence, and other anti-social behaviors later in life.”
Researchers at TheFamilyDinnerProject.org add to this, explaining, “Over three decades of research have shown that regular family meals offer a wide variety of physical, social-emotional and academic benefits” to children.
They found kids who live in homes that enjoy regular family dinners are more likely to experience:

Higher self-esteem

Greater sense of resilience

Lower risk of substance abuse

Big or Small, Churches Catalyze Cultural Engagement

We live in an age of confusion, buffeted by pervasive cultural lies claiming:
- There are more than two sexes.
- Preborn babies aren’t human.
- Parental rights are inherently oppressive.
- Objective truth does not exist.
Sometimes, the falsehoods and evil surrounding Christians feel so overwhelming we want to disengage from the world altogether — but that is not an option. The Bible clearly and frequently commands Christians to love, engage and minister to people lost in culture and sin.
To do that, we have to get involved.
Productive cultural engagement first requires knowledge of the myriad issues facing Christianity. That means churches seeking to be the hands and feet of Christ should focus on educating their congregations about today’s cultural landscape.
World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee is one of the many churches taking this mission to heart. On April 26 and 27, the mega-church will host the Culture and Christianity Conference, an event seeking to “help equip, prepare, and embolden Americans to be voices for God’s Truth, wherever He leads.”
The conference will explore the important role Christians play in impacting culture and discuss practical ways we can spread the truth. The event will be guided by speakers including actor Kirk Cameron, former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, Pastor Allen Jackson and other people “impacting today’s culture with their perspectives.”

Protect Your Kids from ‘Trans’ Activism — Look for These Red Flags

One Colorado mom knows first-hand how “trans” activists targeted her impressionable pre-teen daughter with sexually abusive ideology.
Now, she wants to help other parents protect their children by alerting them to red flags that could open the door to this radical ideology in their own child’s life.
Erin Lee is a mother from northern Colorado, and in 2021, activists in the trans community targeted her 12-year-old daughter.
In an exclusive interview, Erin told the Daily Citizen that her daughter was invited to attend what was being called an art club meeting at school.
But it was actually a gender and sexuality awareness club.
At the meeting, adults told her daughter that if she wasn’t entirely comfortable in her biological sex, she was transgender.
Activists informed her she was queer if she wasn’t sure who she was sexually attracted to, and they advised the kids that it was okay to lie to parents about the meeting.
Erin and her husband, Jon, immediately pulled their daughter out of the school and began to fight back against the school system that, according to Erin, “had a deep agenda to transition children behind parents’ backs.”
Looking back, Erin says there are signs that she missed, things that she wishes she had paid more attention to so she could have protected her daughter.

49ers Quarterback Brock Purdy Marries College Sweetheart: ‘I Love Your Heart for Jesus’

It’s only March, and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has already had quite the remarkable year.
Purdy led the Niners at Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11, facing off against the Kansas City Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. After bringing his team to a 10-3 lead at halftime, the Niners were ultimately bested in overtime, with a final score of 25-22.
On Mar. 9, Purdy married Jenna Brandt — his college sweetheart — at a church in Des Moines, Iowa. “Best day of our lives,” the now-Mrs. Purdy wrote on an Instagram post. “I get to call my best friend my HUSBAND for forever and ever!!!!”
“I love you Mrs. Purdy,” he replied.
The couple got engaged in July 2023, before the start of Purdy’s NFL season. In matching Instagram posts, the couple both referenced their faith in Jesus Christ.
“My Jenna girl forever. I can’t wait to be your husband and grow together in Christ. Here’s to forever babe. I love you JB!” Purdy wrote.
“WE GET TO DO LIFE TOGETHER … FOREVER!” she replied. “Brock Purdy — I love everything about you & your heart for Jesus more than any words can say.”
In a time when marriage rates are on the decline, Mr. and Mrs. Purdy are setting a good example of what our country needs more of, namely, young people looking to get married, start families and have children — and to do so in a God-honoring way.
