Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05) celebrated the House's passage of two pieces of legislation she authored, both of which received broad bipartisan support: "The FOCUS Act, H.R. 6260, includes provisions that reform federal real estate practices to save taxpayer dollars. Separately, the Impact of Crime on Public Building Usage Act, H.R. 6261, would commission a federal study to improve safety around public office buildings." Wednesday Rep. Ashley Hinson (IA-02) announced that legislation she authored unanimously passed the House Commerce Committee. According to Hinson's office, "One out of 75 U.S. births tragically result in stillbirth, accounting for nearly 21,000 stillbirths a year — more stillbirths annually than the number of babies who pass during the first year of life." The Maternal and Child Health Stillbirth Prevention Act of 2024, which will help ensure expecting moms can receive quality pre-natal care, will now head to the full House for a vote. Thursday Republican Leslie Lewallen (WA-03) shared the latest data point in Washington Democrats' failed soft-on-crime policies in her state.
