Later today, House Republicans will vote to repeal the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.

I made sure this critical funding to address the climate crisis was included in the Inflation Reduction Act and now, House Republicans are trying to repeal it. This funding provides transformational investments in programs that tackle the climate crisis, keep our country competitive, and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

It’s clear our climate is changing. Today, a snowstorm is hitting Michigan after we saw temperatures in the 70’s last week. Michiganders are seeing “once in a hundred year” floods every year and wildfires last year that impacted our air for weeks, causing difficulty breathing and worsening asthma for many. We know what is causing these events: the climate crisis.

If we want to continue combatting the global climate crisis, we need to take back control of the House this November, and Michiganders are going to play a critical role in that job.

Michigan has some of the most competitive U.S. House races this year which is why I am already working to make sure voters in these competitive districts know where Democrats stand on important everyday issues like the climate crisis.
