![]() Team, This week, Senator Cappelletti and her colleague Senator Jimmy Dillon introduced critical legislation to protect Pennsylvanians from sharp rent price hikes and strengthen tenant rights across the Commonwealth. Their new bill puts a cap on rent increases for current tenants at 10% and prohibits rent from being increased more than once in a year. The bill also requires landlords to provide tenants with written notice of any increase at least 90 days before the new rate goes into effect, and caps rent increases for new tenants at 15% above what the previous tenant was paying. Pennsylvanians deserve housing security, without a looming threat of massive rent increases that could price them out of the communities they have lived in for many years. Introducing this legislation was a major first step in tackling this problem, but it still needs to gain support in the legislature to become law. Will you add your name in support of Senator Cappelletti’s Rental Protections legislation today?
After you sign, forward this email to 5 friends to spread the word about this important legislation, and urge them to sign on in support as well! Thank you for standing with Amanda! In solidarity, Team Amanda
