Your DPA membership makes a difference for so many people across the country.
We are all impacted by this disastrous drug war—whether we’ve been arrested or imprisoned for simple drug possession, forced to pee in a cup just to get a job, denied financial aid at school because of a drug charge, or lost family, friends, or loved ones to overdose—the drug war is truly far reaching.
But we also have the power to dismantle the drug war, stop arresting people for drugs, and provide people with the services and support they need to live whole and healthy lives.
Across the country, DPA is fighting to replace the war on drugs with new policies based in evidence, health, equity, and human rights. We have a lot of work to do – as we saw in Oregon, self-serving politicians and their well-funded backers are only interested in arrests. Not the support, treatment, and services people actually need.
The actions we take this year can still drive our movement forward, but we must be prepared to challenge drug war defenders who want to turn back the clock on progress.
There is a lot riding on this year, and we hope you are with us. Remember, every dollar you give today will go three times as far–so please, join today.
