John,

We have a major breaking update on Shahzad, the Christian who has been imprisoned since he was 16 years old and has been sentenced to death by hanging.

The U.N. Working Group on Arbitrary Detention just issued a decision, calling on Pakistan to “immediately and unconditionally release him.” This is a huge breakthrough in our fight for this persecuted Christian.

Shahzad has now been falsely imprisoned for 2,445 days, including periods of “solitary confinement.”

The U.N. Working Group found that a radical Muslim group pressured the judge to have Shahzad sentenced to death and that he is in fact being illegally held on death row for his Christian faith.

Most concerning, the Working Group noted it is “gravely concerned about the health and well-being” of Shahzad which has “deteriorated further.”

Time is of the essence.

Our senior legal team is at the U.N. in Geneva right now working on his case and will be making a critical oral intervention for Christians on death row NEXT WEEK. Our legal team on the ground in Pakistan has filed an emergency appeal.

As we aggressively fight to free Shahzad, we need your Tax-Deductible support today. Have your gift DOUBLED through our Life & Liberty Drive.
