John,

It’s deja vu all over again—the same crushing tax hikes that convinced me to run for Governor in the first place are rearing their ugly head again.

Today, the Maryland House has approved the single largest tax increase in Maryland history—a proposed $1.3 billion in new taxes on the backs of working families already struggling with historic inflation and a cost of living crisis.

Marylanders know it doesn’t have to be this way. As Governor, I cut taxes for eight straight years by $4.7 billion and left Maryland with a record surplus. It breaks my heart to see that progress slip away.

I urge Democratic leaders in the Senate to work with Republicans to stop this crushing tax hike and protect hard-working taxpayers. We must work together and reach across the aisle to defeat the toxic partisanship at the state level AND the federal level that is hurting our families.

I want to hear what YOU think. Like I’ve said before, I am here to take your feedback and turn it into ACTION.

Can you take a minute to fill out this priorities survey today before I review the results this weekend?

Thanks for your time,

Governor Larry Hogan

John,

Today I joined WMAL radio to talk about the issues that Marylanders and people across the country are deeply concerned about.

Whether it's record-setting inflation, rising crime, the border crisis, or the proposed $4 billion tax hike in Maryland, we can’t afford to backtrack and accept bad economic policies that will destroy our economy and cost us businesses and jobs.

It’s like Yogi Berra said, “It’s deja vu all over again.”

I am running for Senate because I am tired of politics as usual and Washington politicians who put party over country. We cut taxes every year by $4.7 billion and left office with a record surplus. We saw results because we implemented common sense solutions that were driven by feedback from Marylanders, so that is why I am reaching out to you about my priorities survey.
