Hi,
Today is International Day of Forests — a time to recognize forests' vital role in our world. Forests are home to half the world’s land-based wildlife and plants, hedge the impacts of storms and floods, provide the world with drinking water, and help mitigate climate change by absorbing and storing carbon dioxide.1Forests are the lifeline of our world’s ecosystem.
However, forests are in danger: approximately 12 million hectares of forest are destroyed each year. In addition to having detrimental effects on nearby ecosystems and habitats, deforestation also accounts for around 25% of global greenhouse gas emissions.1
You can take action to combat this issue. By donating just a dollar (or as much as you’re able) to The Canopy Project, you can plant a tree that will positively contribute to keeping our planet healthy.Â
Help us on our mission to rebuild the world’s forests. <[link removed]>

EARTHDAY‍.ORG specifically plants trees in environments that are in dire need of rehabilitation due to climate change, deforestation, and environmental disasters. Without healthy forests, at-risk communities are left to suffer the effects of deforestation from actions that aren’t their own.Â
International Day of Forests is a time to reflect on how forests keep our environment alive, consider how they are exploited and destroyed, and contribute to a positive change. You can be part of the positive change by planting trees with The Canopy Project. <[link removed]>
Show your appreciation for our forests, as well as your concern for their rapid destruction, by supporting a cause dedicated to restoring the health of our planet.
Together,
Kathleen Rogers
President
