Social Security and Medicare are two of the most important programs in American history. Generations of American seniors have been able to live comfortably and enjoy their retirement thanks to the benefits and support provided by these programs that they paid into their entire lives.
But sadly, these vital programs are once again in danger – as Donald Trump, the leader of the Republican party, recently admitted he wants to cut Social Security and Medicare.
In an interview with CNBC, Trump suggested cuts could be made to the programs when asked how the US should reduce federal spending. Make no mistake, team, this isn’t just a gaffe. Republicans have wanted to cut Social Security and Medicare for decades , and if Trump is re-elected and Republicans control Congress, they WILL do it.
That’s why this year’s election is so critical. Not only Social Security and Medicare, but many key federal programs are at risk of extreme GOP cuts if we don’t succeed. We MUST take back the House to ensure this doesn’t happen.
