Hi,

Boeing’s accidents keep piling up — airplane parts flying off mid-flight, windshields cracking, and emergency landings across the country.1 Thanks to former President Trump, Boeing keeps avoiding consequences, but President Biden has the power to finally hold Boeing accountable.

In January of 2021, just before President Trump left office, his Justice Department gave Boeing a secret deal that kept Boeing from facing any charges for the 2018 and 2019 crashes that killed over 300 people.2 Families of the crash victims were devastated that this powerful corporation avoided any consequences for their heinous actions. Now, the Biden administration must undo Trump’s Boeing deal and hold Boeing accountable.

The number of recent Boeing incidents is scary: first, in January, there was the incident on an Alaska Airline flight in which a door blew off mid-flight3 and second, a United Airlines flight that made an emergency landing in Oregon after losing an entire panel.4 Recently, even more disasters include a plane taking a nosedive during an Australian flight, a wheel falling off a plane in California, and an engine catching fire in Texas. And that’s not even the end of the list.5

We can’t rely on luck to make sure consumers are safe when flying. Boeing shouldn’t be allowed to hand-wave away these deadly issues. There needs to be concrete action taken to protect passengers — and immediately hold Boeing accountable.

President Biden needs to do the right thing and require Boeing to face the consequences of their negligence and greed. Lives have been lost because of their greed and their continued prioritization of profit over the safety of consumers. We have the right to expect to be safe when we fly.

Add your name: President Biden must end the Boeing immunity deal and hold them accountable!

Thanks for taking action,

Joey and the team at Demand Progress
