In 2023, we witnessed ice loss from glaciers at a record-breaking pace and the lowest-ever Antarctic sea ice levels. Over 90% of our oceans faced heat wave conditions, posing a unique threat to marine life and disrupting global weather patterns. What’s worse, according to the World Meteorological Organization, there's a significant chance that 2024 will set yet another record for high temperatures. Let’s be clear: these unprecedented increases in greenhouse gas pollution, soaring land and water temperatures, and record-breaking ice-melt are the direct result of the greedy fossil fuel industry’s chokehold on our political system. All of this is contributing to a massive humanitarian crisis — exacerbating food insecurity and displacing communities. Our most vulnerable bear the brunt of the climate crisis while the fat cats in the oil and gas industry rake in billions in profit. It's an injustice that demands immediate action. Here at the Jane Fonda Climate PAC, we’re fighting to elect climate champions who grasp the severity of this crisis and are prepared to take bold action against the fossil fuel industry that's driving it.
