Friends,

Uranium mining in the Grand Canyon has a toxic legacy that has irreversibly
harmed my constituents, most notably the members of the Navajo Nation.

Families in my community were exposed to severe radiation from these mines,
and people are now living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses
because of it.

Worse, the U.S. government has still only cleaned up a fraction of these
abandoned mines.

Many of the toxic sites are near water sources, schools and livestock grazing
areas -- all of which pose a significant threat to our local communities.

We have a responsibility to care for the people who were poisoned and to clean
up the toxic legacy of the past. That’s why my legislation to provide a full
cleanup passed the House. Now we need to pressure Senate Republicans to take it
up for a full vote!

Tell Mitch McConnell to hold a vote on legislation to remediate toxic uranium
mines in the Grand Canyon. He won’t act unless we speak out!
