Happy Women’s History Month!

This month, it’s important for us to take time to recognize and celebrate the women across the globe who have helped to make our world a better and more equitable place.

Honoring this month is especially important to me because Women’s History Month began right here in Sonoma County when the Education Task Force of the Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women created Women’s History Week in 1978. Now, almost 50 years later, we spend the entire month of March celebrating the rich achievements and accomplishments of women throughout history.

There is a lot for us to celebrate this month, but it’s also important that we recognize that there is still a lot of hard work ahead of us.

And so, while we still have a long road ahead of us, please join me this month in honoring women of the past, present, and future.

Women have played a vital role in the preservation of our democracy and the advancement of our nation. Women’s history is American history.
