John,

Today, we’re sending a loud and clear message to the White House: Act now to prohibit menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars.

We joined 123 leading civil rights, public health, medical, faith, youth-serving and other organizations in placing a full-page ad in The Washington Post and issuing a joint statement urging the Biden Administration to issue final rules this month to prohibit these products, meeting a deadline the Administration set in December.

Help us make sure President Biden gets the message by sending him an email today: [link removed]

We were deeply disappointed in December when the Administration delayed issuing these long-overdue rules. As tobacco use is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States and kills nearly half a million Americans every year, any further delay will result in needless disease, suffering and deaths.

The ad and joint statement [[link removed]] underscore the strong and broad support across the nation for this policy, which will:

• Protect kids from tobacco addiction,
• Advance the President's Cancer Moonshot,
• Promote health equity, and
• Save lives, especially Black lives.

The Administration must stand up to the tobacco industry and act now to save lives.

Send a message to President Biden >> [[link removed]

Thanks for standing with us,

John Bowman
Executive Vice President, U.S. Programs
