Friend,
The House has taken a big step towards a more fair tax system in Maryland by closing a major corporate loophole - combined reporting. For decades, wealthy corporations have avoided paying taxes, placing a larger tax burden on working families and small businesses. Our schools, transportation systems, health care and critical state services don't have the funding they need. By passing legislation that closes loopholes for corporations through combined reporting, Maryland can ensure large corporations can't keep hiding money in tax havens to avoid state taxes. This change will raise an estimated $500 million in revenue each year without raising taxes on working people and families. Time is running out for the Senate to pass the legislation. Tell them to follow the House's lead and pass combined reporting! >>> |
