Join the next march for a ceasefire in Gaza, Saturday 30 March
Route and assembly point TBC

The next national demonstration for a ceasefire in Gaza takes place in London on Saturday 30 March, coinciding with the Easter weekend.

Easter is traditionally a time of peace and holds important significance for CND and our supporters as we mark the anniversary of the historic Aldermaston marches against nuclear weapons. It is also fitting that 30 March is Land Day, a time of protest and commemoration for Palestinians who have struggled to keep their land and identity in the face of occupation.

After almost six months of war in Gaza, we must keep up the pressure on the British government to stop supporting Israel's war and to finally use its influence to bring about a permanent and lasting ceasefire!

Local days of action will take place this weekend, 23-24 March. Find one near you here

NEW to the CND website: briefing on the dangers of special nuclear flights

Despite claiming to have an independent nuclear weapons system, Britain and the United States have for six decades been transferring and sharing essential technical information, nuclear materials, and nuclear warhead components. Without these transfers Britain woud have no nuclear weapons system.

One important way in which these transfers take place is through special flights to and from RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire.

Special nuclear flights are a critical aspect in maintaining Britain's nuclear arsenal. As our new briefing with Nukewatch shows, the claim that Britain's nuclear arsenal is independent is absolutely not evidence based.

This paper also documents the safety risks posed by these flights, the poor performance during exercises to prepare authorities for a nuclear accident, and the government's recent cutting down on transparency by blocking the release of reports on its most recent training exercises. This briefing is a useful primer on an underreported part of the US-UK special relationship. Read more here.
