Friend,
Four years ago this month, the COVID-19 pandemic was sweeping across the globe, killing thousands and infecting millions.
Folks were stockpiling toilet paper, the economy was in free fall, millions were forced to stay home, and thousands were losing their jobs.
Americans looked to our president for leadership, but Donald Trump gave us nothing but denials, deflection, and chaos.
In November 2020, the American people sent a message that they’d had enough, and Democrats won historic victories in Congress, the Senate, and the White House. In the years since, we’ve brought our country back from the brink:
We passed historic legislation to provide economic relief to those struggling, fight inflation, combat climate change, reduce the price of prescription drugs, and rebuild our infrastructure.
We confirmed Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, passed a bipartisan historic gun safety law, ended the war in Afghanistan, and put in guardrails to block any future president from withdrawing from NATO without the consent of Congress.
The results speak for themselves: Inflation is down, unemployment is at historic lows, and the country’s economic growth is finally reaching American households.
I’m so proud of how far we’ve come in less than four years.
But we’ve got a lot of work to do. And if Republicans win back the House, Senate, and presidency this November, we can kiss all of that progress goodbye.
I don’t want to go back to March of 2020 — do you?
