I don’t think campaigns should be bought and paid for by special interests and corporations. Do you?

The first FEC reports are in, and my opponent has already accepted over $100K dollars, not from Alaskans but from PACs and Washington special interests. We know this is only the beginning. His special interest friends are going to pump hundreds of thousands, if not millions, more into his campaign — because they know he’ll go back to Washington and continue to look out for them.

As I’ve said from the beginning, this campaign is going to be powered, funded by and built for Alaskans. That’s why I’ve taken the pledge not to take any corporate PAC donations to my congressional campaign.

This will not be easy. But we are going to make history by showing how strong our campaign can be when it truly represents the people.

Pledge to give what you can monthly, so that we can raise what we need in order to fly, ferry or drive to as many voters in communities throughout Alaska as possible!

As for me, I will be continuing to meet you where you are — in living rooms, coffee shops, on the riverbank, on the phone — learning more about what you care about so I can best represent you. And in Washington, I will be listening to and serving you, whether or not you choose to invest in me as your future representative.

Let’s unite and stand up for what we value together: a democracy where Alaskans are represented. I look forward to the honor of serving as your Congresswoman where I’ll be looking out for you and all Alaskans. Not big-money donors and special interests.
