** A message from our Executive Director:

Hi ,

This is a really hard and scary time for all of us: our team is worried about our families and our people, and we can’t completely predict the challenges still ahead. But I’ve taken great comfort and inspiration from the way our community has risen to the challenge, and held space for each other. Thank you.

In this time of monumental change and uncertainty, there’s nowhere I’d rather be than building our movement with you. Since COVID-19 became a national emergency, our team has….

* Co-created and disseminated COVID-19 guidance for people who use drugs and harm reduction programs, in English and Spanish, and on safer drug use during the COVID-19 outbreak, in Portuguese and Arabic. Check out these resources here ([link removed]) .
* Hosted virtual office hours ([link removed]) around COVID-19 for folks working in syringe services programs. The two sessions to date were attended by over 500 individuals total, and we’re just getting started.
* Paused in-person trainings and moved what we can online to ensure groups have the support they need ([link removed]) .
* Formulated an emergency naloxone distribution plan for the Dope Project in San Francisco, which staff are still working daily to carry out.

But most of all, I am proud of how the team, and our allies in the harm reduction movement, have pivoted to face this moment with grace, humility, and an awareness that our best work will now look very different, but will be grounded in the same principles that have guided this movement all along: equity, radical love, solidarity, and direction from folks most impacted.

So now I’m going to make the ask: if you have cash to spare in this complicated moment, we’d be grateful for your help in supporting emergent work. We don’t know what the next few months, or the next year, will hold as the groups we work with figure out how to serve their communities in new ways. But what we do know is that flexibility in this work is more important than ever. If you can, please consider making a one-time or monthly gift today.

Our team has pulled together this resource page ([link removed]) to use while we face this crisis together, please check it out. We'll keep in touch with new resources for our community — in the meantime, follow us on social media to stay up to date!

Thank you for reading this far. Together, I know we’ll move past this stronger than ever.

In solidarity,

Monique Tula

Executive Director
