The?Aging and Long-Term Support Administration [ [link removed] ] ALTSA, Office of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ODHH), is hiring for three *Social Service Specialist 3* positions!?

For these roles, you must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) to provide case management services for Deaf, Deaf/Blind, and Hard of Hearing clients.

Telework is allowed. These positions will be largely remote work, home and/or in the community.
?
This position may also provide peer counseling, communication strategies, coping skills, and advocacy for individuals who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This position may also provide trainings and presentations, as well as outreach event coordination. This position will provide and promote Case Management, Outreach, and Advocacy Services for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Late-Deafened clients throughout the State of Washington.

*Some of what you'll do:*


* Conduct intake to assess client barriers, needs, situations, strengths, and support networks to develop service delivery plans.
* Collaborate, facilitate, manage, and monitor client service delivery plans with clients and/or other service providers.
* Provide communication support to clients to facilitate their informed choices and empower them with information regarding a variety of topics including ?housing, wellness, safety needs, and/or finances.
* Provide coaching and support to clients to develop new skills, including activities of daily living, communication strategies, problem-solving, decision making and self advocacy.
* Advocate and raise service providers? awareness of client rights and responsibilities with or on behalf of clients and constituents. Support improved access to their services,?
* Research, refer and advocate for community resources to assist and improve client?s wellbeing and safety, such as food assistance, childcare, finances and health care.
* Identify community training needs and coordinate training sessions both independently and in partnership with other Case Managers, Case Manager Team Lead, Community Resource Program Manager, and/or Training and Presentation program Manager.
* Provide culturally rich and congruent client services, assistance and advocacy.
* Develop and implement action plans to remove communication and/or independent living barriers for individual clients.
* Ensure that clients that are familiar with their rights regarding government, legal, communication, and community, cultural, and self-advocacy issues.?
* Maintain appropriate and confidential case files, records, and statistical data on all client contact and counseling, and maintain accurate data of client records.
* Complete case notes, correspondence, and reports within deadlines, including monthly reports on services provided.

*?**We?re looking for a professional with:*

A Bachelor's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, criminal law/justice or an allied field, and two years of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2.
Or
A Master's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, criminal law/justice or an allied field and one years of paid social service experience equivalent to a Social Service Specialist (A two-year Master's degree in one of the above fields that included a practicum will be substituted for one year of paid social service experience).
Or
One year as a Social Service Specialist 2*?*
