Ironic, isn’t it, how something we can't see can make a chronic weakness so plainly apparent?
This is why, in the midst of this public health crisis we all are dealing with, we emphasized advocating for Medicare for All during our Organize to Win Virtual Meeting last Thursday. And why we are following up last week's webinar with an online petition urging Congresswoman Gwen Moore of Milwaukee to sign on to Medicare for All legislation. Hers is one of most progressive congressional districts in the country, but Representative Moore still hasn’t pledged support for Medicare for All.
We're also doing phonebanking as part of a "thank or spank" campaign to let those members of Congress who do support Medicare for All how much we appreciate their leadership and make sure members who have not yet signed on in support of the legislation know that we are watching and waiting for them to get on board.
At this moment of hardship and uncertainty, we can't hit the streets. But we can get on the phone and go online and make our voices heard. Our work must continue. And we could sure use your help right now.
