Local Elections - 2nd May 2024 Dear , Re: Local Elections for the 2nd May This year the rules for getting nominated are unusually simple, as you do not need to collect any signatures in order to be able to stand. You can propose yourself and a member of your family who is on the electoral roll can second you, so no further signatures need to be collected. You will need a National Nominating Officer’s authorisation for the Party’s description to go on the ballot paper and you can use our emblem on the ballot paper also. If you would like to stand, please make contact with me on
[email protected] Nominations open on the 22nd March and you would have to get your papers in before 4.00 p.m. on the 5th April. This is a time when the Conservatives are in deep trouble and it is likely that voters will be looking for an alternative, so if you are interested in being actually elected a bit of leafletting would be likely to produce much better results than in less favourable times. We can provide you with leaflets. If you simply want to help us get the message out by standing as a paper candidate, please confirm to me when you make contact if that is what you want to do. That will be a help to raise awareness of our cause.
