At the end of February, after years of back and forth, New York State finally confirmed the new Congressional lines. I am excited to represent the #NewNY19. I've won here, fought for these communities and affectionately call this district the place where Upstate meets Downstate.

While my opponent considered abandoning this district, I'm committed to staying in the fight for every person in NY19, regardless of political affiliation.

I recently co-sponsored the Access to Family Building Act, becoming the first Republican to sign on to this important legislation.

I believe firmly that every woman and every family should be able to pursue their dreams of parenthood.

I thank the author of the bill, Rep. Susan Wild of Pennsylvania, for her kind words saying that I exhibited a "profile in courage" cosponsoring her bill. It was simply the right thing to do.

For too long, Upstate NY has been overlooked and forgotten. When I ran to serve you in Congress, I made it a priority to make sure our communities had a voice.

I am proud to have fought for, helped secure and deliver on a number of vital projects for our community.

As you know, advocating for our friends and family with disabilities has long been core to my public service.

I'm proud to announce that my bipartisan "Think DIFFERENTLY About Emergencies Act" - a bill to make sure no one is left behind when disaster strikes - has passed the House.

Additionally, I have put forward a bipartisan package of bills that will help break down barriers for people with disabilities - ensuring better access to healthcare, more opportunities to succeed and support for them and their caregivers.
