This is a photo of me (in red) in my Kindergarten class.

Recently, I've been thinking about the sacrifices that my family and my underserved farm worker community had to make to get me from that class to Congress.

It fills me with a deep sense of purpose to ensure the next generation of Americans have the opportunities that I had. But when I sit and listen to my MAGA Republicans in Congress nowadays, my heart breaks. Congress has hit rock bottom.

Decorum is non-existent in the Republican Party. Their interest in helping the American people (aside from their mega donors) is zero, and they’ll jump on any excuse to demonize and scapegoat immigrants, working families, and anyone that doesn’t look, sound, and act exactly like they do.

Our best chance to fight back against the extreme MAGA agenda is at the ballot box. I’ll be honest, in this single-digit race, and with our fundraising lagging perilously behind, my seat is a top target. So can I count on you to chip in $10 today and give our team the resources we need to win? »

It’s sickening. And when I look back at the photo of my Kindergarten classmates and me, I worry about the future we’re creating for our children .

Instead of a leg up, they get ignored. Instead of investments in education, their schools get defunded & demonized. And instead of the promise of an American Dream, their parents worry at night about making ends meet
