Facing New Territory, Together

COVID-19 is new, but the American Lung Association has been down this road before. We were founded in 1904 by people who wanted to help save lives from tuberculosis, the public health emergency of that time. Since then, we’ve gone on to respond to other lung health challenges from asthma and H1N1 to climate change, the youth vaping epidemic and lung cancer.

-----------------------

How to Stop a Pandemic

How do we respond to these public health crises? With our pioneering model of education and advocacy, driven forward by groundbreaking research. This science-based approach has become the gold standard for public health organizations and guides everything we do today.

New Look, Same Mission

You might notice a new look in this email and on Lung.org. Months ago, we started the process to refresh our organization’s brand. Our new look reflects breath, wellness and clean air, and we’re speaking more clearly to people who rely on us to meet the lung health challenges of today, the coming century and beyond. Our mission remains the same: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. Our vision continues to be a world free of lung disease.
