No images? Click here John, As spring brings new beginnings, it also renews our unwavering commitment to championing economic equity and prosperity for all. This past month, Prosperity Now has been at the heart of pivotal discussions, policy innovations, and strategic collaborations aimed at dismantling systemic barriers to economic security, with a keen focus on empowering the Latino community and beyond. A significant highlight of our endeavors was the "Meeting the Moment: New Policy Innovations to Advance Latino Economic Security" briefing, in partnership with UnidosUS. Held in the nation's capital, I had the honor of moderating this event that gathered key voices in policy and advocacy to delve into the economic concerns of Latino voters as the 2024 elections approach. The insights shared emphasized the critical need for inclusive economic policies and set the stage for transformative action. Amidst our discussions on economic disparities and the quest for equitable solutions, Prosperity Now also took a firm stand on the issue of student debt relief. Our statement in response to the Biden administration’s announcement on forgiving student loans for an additional 153,000 borrowers reaffirmed our belief in the power of education as a catalyst for economic opportunity. Our stance was also featured in a Word in Black article, underscoring our commitment to addressing the disproportionate impact of student debt on Black and Latino borrowers from low-income backgrounds. We showcased our collective power and movement building through our national convening on Baby Bonds, organized in partnership with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) -- and this strategic collaboration was a testament to our dedication to laying the groundwork for a future free of economic barriers. This convening brought together a coalition poised to strategize on making foundational wealth a reality for every child, further amplifying our mission to create an equitable economic landscape. John, your steadfast support is the backbone of our journey towards economic justice. As we celebrate our collective milestones and gear up for the challenges ahead, we are inspired by the strength of our community and the impact of our united efforts. Together, we are not only envisioning but actively building a future where economic security and prosperity are accessible to all.
