I’m reaching out one last time before our end-of-quarter deadline tonight to see if you can make a donation. Here’s why I need to ask:

When we started this quarter, we had no idea the kind of historic challenges our country would face.

Just two months ago, we were in the midst of the impeachment trial.

And today, we’re facing the COVID-19 pandemic, which has completely turned our world upside down — including our campaign.

What does this have to do with our fundraising? Well both of these demanded my full attention — nothing less. I continue to focus on doing the job you expect me to do — not focusing on our fundraising. Both crises also forced us to cancel some in-person fundraisers.

So we’re not where we thought we’d be today, but we still have the chance to finish this quarter strong. So I need to ask:

If you can afford it, will you make a $3 contribution to our campaign before our midnight deadline? This is the first FEC deadline of 2020, and we want to demonstrate that we have the grassroots support that we need to win.

Our country and democracy have faced significant tests this year. It’s made clear just how important it is that we engage with our democracy and fight for the progressive values we share.

I’m an optimist by nature. I believe that we will get through these challenging times by standing together, and when we do, we will come out stronger than ever. Your support today will help us deliver that message — that our campaign, our democracy, and our country are resilient.
