Did you see this message, John xxxxxx? Allie Phillips is heading to the general election!
At 19 weeks pregnant, Allie got the terrible news that the baby she was expecting would not make it. Doctors warned her that continuing the pregnancy would endanger her life. However, because the Tennessee state legislature, which is 85% male, passed a near-total ban on abortion in 2022, she was denied life-saving abortion care, forcing her to leave the state. No woman should have to go through what Allie experienced.
Following this tragedy, Allie began advocating for “Miley’s Law” (named after the baby girl she never got the chance to meet), which would add an exception for fetal anomalies to the state abortion ban. Her representative, Rep. Jeff Burkhart, responded to her by saying that If his own daughter had been in Phillips’s position, he’d have wanted her to continue the pregnancy.
He also said he didn’t realize miscarriages could occur after a first-time pregnancy… (???)
Allie is running for
HIS SEAT in the TN House of Representatives, in a district that Democrats have identified as flippable. We are honored to be standing with her in this fight to defeat her anti-choice opponent. Help us fund our support programs for Allie’s campaign by donating $20.24 or more today →

Here’s her story:
During a routine anatomy scan at 19 weeks pregnant, Allie learned that the baby she was expecting, Miley Rose, was not going to make it.
Doctors warned that continuing the pregnancy would endanger her life. However, abortion is banned in Tennessee – forcing Allie to leave the state to seek life-saving care.
“With a risk of sepsis, blood clots, or more, I underwent an emergency abortion. I did this alone: in a city I had never been to before, without my family or my husband there by my side,” Allie said.
Allie began advocating for “Miley’s Law,” which would add an exception for fetal anomalies to the state abortion ban.
However, her legislator, Rep. Jeff Burkhart, did not have any empathy for her experience, stating if his own daughter had been in Phillips’s position, he’d have wanted her to continue the pregnancy…
Now, Allie is running for HIS SEAT in the TN House of Representatives.
Allie’s district is one that Democrats have identified as flippable – but she is going to need our help. This is our chance to replace her anti-choice extremist opponent, and we are honored to be standing with her in this fight.
