Here’s why your support is so important:

Four years ago, filled with shock and anger at the death of George Floyd at the hands of the police, many of us took to the streets and filled our social media feeds to stand up against racism. The Black Lives Matter protests were at their height. Urgent change was demanded, but have we seen enough progress since then? Have we been loud enough in our fight for equality?

Today, the far right is growing while scapegoating and vilifying racialised groups. Across the European Union, racialised people, including Black, Muslim, Jewish and Roma people are still discriminated against. Some even face extreme police violence.

The fight against racism of course does not end at the European borders. Refugees and migrants face barriers, abuses and danger at all of Europe’s external borders. Thousands of people die or go missing every year, just in the Mediterranean Sea.

The fight against racism did not end four years ago. It has barely even begun. Since October last year, both antisemitism and anti-Muslim hatred have risen sharply.

We must not be silent in the face of hate, and we must #ChooseCourage.

So, we say: we need to #StayLoud.
