We are looking forward to seeing many of you at the presidential nominating convention this Saturday, March 23, 2024. If you have not voted yet, and will not be in attendance, an attendee can bring your ballot inside an unmarked envelope inside another envelope that bears your name and address for verification purposes. Of course, if you are attending, you can bring your ballot, or fill one out when you get there. 

A zoom link will be provided to SC members and registered Other-Greens to watch the convention by sending an email to [email protected] with the subject line “GPNY PNC Zoom link request.” The zoom link will be provided after other-Green registration is verified. Please note – this will be a webinar style presentation with the chat disabled.   

We are also soliciting nominations by email for the 13 delegates to the virtual Green Party National Presidential Nominating Convention. Nominations can be self-nominations or of others, but Greens nominating others as delegates must affirm personal knowledge that the nominee is willing and available to participate in the national convention (to be held virtually July 11-14, 2024).

Email nominations must be made to [email protected] no later than 5:00 p.m Friday, March 22.  Nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the convention/SC meeting to be held on March 23, 2024.  Ballots for voting by STV will be prepared to include those who are nominated by email, with space to add anyone nominated at the March 23 meeting. Only state committee members will be eligible to vote, but any New York State Green can be nominated and elected.

Sign-in will begin at 10:00 AM, non-SC member speak-out will begin at 10:30 AM, the State Committee meeting will begin at 11:00 AM, and the Presidential Nominating Convention will begin at noon. We will be asking for a $20 voluntary donation (cash or check only) at sign-in to cover the cost of breakfast, lunch and venue rental. Note that the weather forecast for Albany is calling for light snow Friday night and chilly temperatures on Saturday; plan your wardrobe accordingly!
