Dear Supporters, Friends, and Family,
In a significant victory for Democrats in Ohio, Matt Diemer has won the Democratic primary for Ohio's 7th congressional district, setting the stage for a campaign centered on congressional reform. Diemer, a staunch advocate for depolarizing American politics, has made headlines with his campaign's focus to "Make Congress Work Again."
"The people of Ohio's 7th district have spoken loud and clear: they are tired of the endless dysfunction and partisanship that has plagued Congress," Diemer said. “Let's be honest, Congress IS the problem! Our campaign is about bridging divides, ending the gridlock, and ensuring Congress can once again pass laws that benefit all Americans."
Diemer has been vocal in criticizing the current Republican majority for what he describes as "nearly two years of infighting and dysfunction," attributing these issues to the GOP's inability to manage its majority effectively. He emphasized the importance of protecting democracy from individuals and groups that sought to undermine the country's institutions, especially in light of the events of January 6th.
"End the Dysfunction!" Diemer aims to address the critical issues preventing Congress from effectively governing, such as the challenges highlighted in recent discussions around government shutdowns and border security.
Diemer is also committed to tackling the root causes of Congress's dismal 14% approval rating by proposing significant reforms in campaign finance, insider stock trading, and anti-gerrymandering. He advocates for eliminating the influence of Super PACs and lobbyist money in politics, which he believes contributes to wasteful campaign spending and a lack of accountability. Diemer points to the example of Max Miller, who spent $3 million yet still lost Cuyahoga County, as evidence of the need for change.
"Our democracy is at a crossroads," Diemer stated. "We can either continue down the path of division and discord, or we can choose a new direction—one where Congress works for the people, where integrity and transparency are the cornerstones of our governance. I am here to fight for the latter, to Make Congress Work Again for every American."
As the general election approaches, Diemer's campaign is gaining momentum, resonating with voters across Ohio's 7th district who are eager for change and a Congress that prioritizes the nation's well-being over partisan politics.
But I can’t win in November without you.
