21st Congressional District and local Businessman Michael Maher receives endorsement from Assemblyman Vince Fong
Fresno - Former law enforcement professional, local businessman, and top-two candidate for the 21st Congressional District seat, Michael Maher, has earned the endorsement of State Assemblyman Vince Fong. Fong has represented the 32nd State Assembly District since 2016, and his district includes portions of Tulare County.
Assemblyman Fong joins a notable list of Central Valley endorsements of Michael Maher for Congress, including Congressman Tom McClintock, former Congresswoman Connie Conway, State Senator Shannon Grove, and Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux.
"I'm honored to receive Assemblyman Fong's support. Both of us grew up in the Central Valley and have worked hard to build its future," noted Michael Maher.
"I am also thrilled at how we over-performed in the March Primary and how competitive and close this race for the 21st Congressional District will be. Based on my conversations at doorsteps with voters, I know that Republicans, Democrats, and independents are eager for change and someone to deliver for them."
Businessman Michael Maher will face incumbent Congressman Jim Costa in the November Election in a race already receiving regional and national attention. While Democrats hold a 16-point registration advantage, with votes still being counted, Maher has received 20% more vote percentage than Republican registration percentage, and only a few total percentage points separate Maher and Costa. Michael Maher received strong support in the March Primary from Republicans, Democrats, and independent voters, boosting the opportunity for flipping this Congressional seat.
