I have a quick update for you—last week, ​Senate Democrats tried to push through a bill that would allow for human cloning, embryo discrimination, and much more under the guise of expanding in vitro fertilization for military service members and veterans. The clear goal of the bill was their radical agenda, not protecting disabled veterans.
The bill was called up to the Senate floor for unanimous consent, meaning it would pass unless one senator objected. I was the lone objection standing on the floor, so the bill failed.
Democrats are currently trying to confuse Americans that all Republicans are opposed to IVF and that Democrats are actually the party of life. The reality is a long way from those “facts.”

I stand for the value of every child starting at conception. The decision of any family to pursue IVF when starting a family is a difficult, moral conversation. Like me, many Republicans support IVF but want to be careful how many eggs are fertilized and how those eggs are cared for—because we believe every child is valuable. ​
Cindy and I have friends who are in the process of adopting fertilized eggs. IVF can be a beautiful way for a child to be born, but it cannot be used for human cloning or other manipulations of life.
