John, I know from firsthand experience that our healthcare system is failing.

It failed me when I was a child in the foster care system.

It failed me as a Black mother who was looking for good prenatal and aftercare.

And now, as the working class Mayor of Hagerstown, I see it fail my citizens everyday. I’m doing everything I can to help them deal with high costs, finding good doctors and getting the care they need, but I know there’s so much more to be done – for all of us – that I can only do as a member of Congress.

That’s why I’ve made healthcare a centerpiece of my campaign. For too long, working class people have been failed by our healthcare system, and I’m running for Congress because we deserve better. But I need your help to stand up against the system.

John, if you think we deserve a better healthcare system, will you donate $25 to my campaign, to elect a working class candidate who will fight for healthcare reform on day one? >> ([link removed])

I know how important healthcare is because I’ve gone without it.

There have been long stretches in my adult life where I didn’t have insurance, and so I couldn’t access healthcare options even when I needed it.

Typical politicians, people who never think twice about seeing a doctor – they don’t get it like we get it. They wouldn’t understand the time I spent all day as a community mediator, facing conflict head-on, but broke down crying at the dentist.

I had been without dental care for so long that my anxiety about the visit broke me down. That’s the reality many Americans are living in, one where even receiving healthcare is a scary event.

Healthcare shouldn’t be scary, John. But I can’t make it to Congress and fight to end our healthcare nightmare without your support right now.

John, I’m fighting for healthcare reform, but I can’t do it without your grassroots support. Will you donate $25 to my campaign so I can keep fighting for the healthcare we deserve? >> ([link removed])
