Dear John,

I am proud to announce my office is now accepting submissions for the 42nd Annual Congressional Art Competition.

Each spring, a nationwide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation, as well as in Louisiana's Second Congressional District. I'm honored to be a part of this tradition – over 650,000 high school students have been involved with the nationwide competition since its inception.

The winning artwork of our district's competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington will include the winning artwork from all participating districts from around the country.

Every year, I am astonished by the talent and skill of young people in Louisiana's Second Congressional District and enjoy seeing their creativity. Last year, Wanda Hu, a now junior at Ben Franklin High School won the LA-02 competition for her piece "Hopefully Anew."
