538: 16 States Made It Harder To Vote [[link removed]]
John: This headline is from December, but it's worth emphasizing how new voting restrictions were passed in 16 different states in 2023 .
Driven by many opponents of voting rights' false belief that lax voting laws allowed the 2020 election to be stolen , nearly 400 laws with voting restrictions have been proposed and more than 30 have been enacted across the country. States like Ohio, Florida, Mississippi, Idaho, Arkansas, South Dakota, and Indiana led the charge.
Other critical issues -- like a woman's right to choose -- have been targeted too, but the right to vote is at the core of every fight. Without a way to make our voice heard in our elections, self-interested elected officials will run roughshod over our rights.
John, this is the fight of our lives. Vote suppressors are trying to make the progress we made in the last few elections a distant memory. Push back by pitching in $25 or whatever you can today >> [[link removed]]

It’s simple: unlike the opponents of voting rights driving these new restrictions with their dark money millions, we believe that everyone’s voice should be heard and every vote should count .
They've spent the last two decades or more fighting against your rights, and they are on the warpath again this year. These scorched earth tactics are a cynical attempt to hold onto the power they have and try to take more.
Preserving our democracy means stopping them wherever we can. Chip in $25 or whatever you can today to protect and expand voting rights >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
