Back To The “Bloodbath”

As we reported yesterday, the left-wing media went into disinformation overload because of one word Donald Trump said during a weekend rally in Ohio.

Referring to the potential threats the American auto industry is facing, Trump warned of a “bloodbath” in lost jobs if he loses the election and is, thus, unable to change policy and protect American jobs.

Even though the context of his remarks was absolutely clear, the left instantly ran wild with dishonest warnings that Trump was threatening violence and a “bloodbath” in the streets.

An ad was immediately put up that not only distorted what Trump said but also attempted to resurrect the Charlottesville hoax, another complete distortion of his remarks.

Think about what that ad is doing. It is telling Americans, many of whom are frightened for various reasons, that one candidate for president intends to launch a war if he loses the election, just like the war he allegedly launched on January 6th, which we know was a demonstration that got out of hand.

But now the left is telling a lie that builds on other lies. This is likely to cause unhinged leftists to start planning how they will fight back. And we know that Antifa needs no encouragement to attack people they don’t like.

This disgusting smear is no different from the way the left regularly stokes racial divisions -- the most sensitive issue in America.

They are trying to convince minority Americans that white Americans are bigots and the whole system, especially law enforcement, is racist. They do that because it is the only way they can think of to get minorities to support them.

Now these leftists are raising the specter of civil war and revolution to scare Americans. They are encouraging every deranged potential assassin to kill that candidate in order to save the country.

We’ve seen it before. Remember the Bernie Sanders supporter who attempted to assassinate House Republicans? Remember the man who flew across the country to assassinate conservative Supreme Court justices?

This ad shows just how little the left cares about America. It shows that the left will say anything and outright lie to preserve its power to “fundamentally transform America.”

Chinese Warn of “Bloodbath”

Donald Trump was right to warn about Chinese auto factories in Mexico. Chinese automakers are rapidly expanding into European markets, and they are building factories in Mexico. It’s not because they can’t get cheap labor in China. They obviously can.

So why make cars in Mexico? Because we have a trade deal with Mexico, and Chinese companies will pay much lower tariffs by building cars in Mexico rather than exporting them from China.

Trump understands their plan. That’s why he promised to impose a 100% tariff on Chinese cars coming from Mexico in order to avoid a “bloodbath” in the American auto industry.

Well, let me introduce you to He Xiaopeng, the CEO of XPeng Motors, one of China’s largest electric vehicle companies. Xiaopeng is aggressively expanding sales of his vehicles all over the world.

He recently wrote a memo to his employees and, in typical communist Chinese fashion, he bragged about their strategy of “cutthroat competition” and the potential for a “bloodbath” in the U.S. auto industry thanks to a flood of Chinese cars made in Mexico.

So, we really ought to be having a national debate about what is or is not being done to save the American auto industry from the communist Chinese companies that are working non-stop to destroy it.

Communist China is waging an economic war against us. But too many multinational CEOs and our globalist elites refuse to recognize the danger.

Faith Under Siege

Surveys show that approximately two-thirds of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction. While most commentators tend to think only of economic issues, I have often suggested that much of this concern is also related to the breakdown of cultural norms and values. Here’s proof.

A new survey by the Pew Research Center finds that 80% of Americans believe the influence of religion in America is declining. Nearly half of those surveyed (49%) said religion’s declining influence is bad for the country, and nearly as many (48%) felt there was “some” or a “great deal” of conflict between their religious beliefs and American culture.

Equally troubling is the fact that 41% of Americans felt it was best to “avoid discussing religion at all” whenever they disagreed with someone about religion. This growing impulse to self-censor is a result of the left’s increasing intolerance, and it’s exactly what they want. They want to shut us up and shut down debate. (See next item.)

Let me be clear: I believe this trend is a very disturbing development – especially in a nation founded on religious liberty and which adopted the phrase “In God We Trust” as our national motto.

Some may say, “Gary, you can’t legislate morality.” Yes, you can. We do it all the time. All law is someone’s idea of what is right and what is wrong. The question is: Whose ideas are going to prevail?

Our first president, George Washington, was also very clear about his belief in the role of religion in American life and that only a virtuous people can remain free. In fact, Washington felt so strongly that he wrote at length about the importance of religion in his Farewell Address. Washington declared:

“Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens. . .

“And let us with caution indulge the supposition, that morality can be maintained without religion. . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect, that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.

“It is substantially true, that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government.”

Nearly 190 years later, President Ronald Reagan put it more succinctly when he warned, “If we ever forget that we’re one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”

Free Speech Under Siege

Yesterday, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in a critically important case about the First Amendment and government censorship. I am sorry to report that virtually every observer doubts there is a majority on the court that understands social media is not like a newspaper that decides what it wants to print.

In fact, Mark Zuckerberg once described his social media platforms as “the digital equivalent of a town square.” Well, when you deny people the opportunity to be part of the debate in the town square, you’re censoring them.

The worst example of yesterday’s debate at the Supreme Court came from Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. You’ll recall that she infamously couldn’t explain what a “woman” is. Evidently, she also doesn’t know what the First Amendment means.

During her questioning of the attorneys arguing against government censorship, Justice Jackson said, “My biggest concern is that your view has the First Amendment hamstringing the government in significant ways.”

Well, yes, that’s precisely what the Founding Fathers had in mind. Every one of the amendments in the Bill of Rights is specifically meant to empower the people and limit the government. And for good reason.

We know the government lied to us with the Russia collusion hoax, and we know that the government deliberately tried to censor the truth about Hunter Biden’s laptop.

So-called “intelligence experts” told us that Hunter’s laptop was “Russian disinformation.” The FBI knew that was false. The FBI had the laptop for months. But it still pressured social media companies to censor and suppress stories about it.

The Deep State must be dismantled. The Swamp must be drained. Our freedom must be protected.
