John,
Our border is in crisis.
We need our leaders to take action — not just take pictures at stunt media events. This is a complicated issue, and we aren’t going to solve it with just one bill.
But for the sake of our border communities, we need to do something.
The problem is that Donald Trump doesn’t want to see progress — he wants to see chaos and division because he thinks that will help his reelection chances.
Donald Trump came out against the bipartisan border funding bill — so my opponent, Juan Ciscomani, came out against the bill, too. Now, Trump is on the campaign trail saying immigrants “are not people” and threatening a “bloodbath” if he is not reelected.
This is horrifying, dehumanizing language that only serves to drive us further apart on this issue. I condemn it wholeheartedly.
I had a lot of thoughts about Trump and Ciscomani blocking the funding our border communities desperately. That’s why I published opinion pieces in the Arizona Republic and in Green Valley News unpacking how Ciscomani is letting Arizona down.
Our border communities deserve leaders who will work across the aisle to make progress. That’s exactly what I’ll do in Congress.
We have less than two weeks to hit our quarterly fundraising goal. Everything you chip in will go to helping us defeat Ciscomani and flip Southeast Arizona blue. Will you donate now?
