I have some incredibly exciting news to share, friend:
Yield Giving, the foundation of philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, has announced California Environmental Voters Education Fund as a recipient of its $1 million award for our work educating and mobilizing around climate justice.
Winning this award from an international philanthropist highlights the exceptional dedication and impact of our team (including you!) to create and scale global climate solutions.
Friend, this is a true endorsement of our collective work and our mission to build the power to solve the climate crisis, advance equity and justice, and create the policy roadmap for global action.
With your help, EnviroVoters Ed Fund has been at the forefront of organizing in improving government, creating climate justice and voting accessibility policies, organizing with local leaders and communities, educating legislators on pressing environmental issues, and shaping the public narrative. We are honored to receive this generous award, which will deepen our dedication to creating thriving and healthy communities with an economy and democracy that are sustainable and just for all.
We produced a video as part of our application to offer Yield Giving a glimpse into our approach to addressing the climate crisis and who we are. Give it a watch here →
Friend, the Ed Fund is one of just 361 organizations to be awarded out of 6,353 applications from all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.
A full year ago, Yield Giving launched an open call for community-led, community-focused organizations to apply for this award. Last fall, after receiving high marks from our peers, we were among the organizations that advanced to a second round of review by an external evaluation panel, and underwent a final round of due diligence.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Yield Giving for its support to our cause and our thanks as always to our partners and supporters (like you, friend) for your unwavering commitment. We will continue to be committed to leading the way in driving climate action and advocating for a more just and equitable world.
Yours in partnership,
