Lauren Underwood For Congress

This is a big month for our campaign, John.

TODAY is the last day to cast a ballot in the primary election — and our team has been working around the clock to get our message out in front of voters and make sure everyone in our district knows how to make their voices heard.

Polls will close at 7 PM tonight, and after the votes are tallied, the race to the general election will be on.

And then at the end of the month, our campaign will face the most important federal fundraising deadline yet. Our first Federal Election Commission (FEC) public reporting deadline of the year is on March 31, and it will have major implications on the outlook for November’s midterm elections.

This deadline is critical because it will give everyone — voters, the media, national Republicans, even dark money super PACs — a transparent view of how much we’ve raised and how many folks have chipped in over the last three months.

But here’s the situation: We’ve been investing heavily in our voter outreach efforts ahead of today’s election, and as a result, our cash on hand is a bit lower than we’d like it to be.

It’s important that we get back on track because if we file a weak report, it could give our newly nominated Republican opponent the impression that our team isn’t prepared to protect this seat, and the right-wing attacks could start raining in on our campaign.

That’s why our team has set a Primary Day goal of raising $5,000 by tonight to make sure we’re not only prepared to hit the ground running toward the general election, but also to send the strongest numbers possible to the FEC this month.

So John, I’m personally asking: Will you make a contribution to help our campaign refuel and prepare for the tough fight ahead? I’m counting on this incredible team to help us reach this goal and head toward the FEC deadline in a position of strength.
