2054 is the sequel to 2034: A Novel of the Next World War, a New York Times bestseller by writer and former Marine infantry officer, Elliot Ackerman, and writer and retired Admiral James Stavridis, who served as the Supreme Allied Commander of NATO.

Two years ago, With Honor Action sent copies of 2034 to bipartisan Members of Congress and key stakeholders. 2034 underscored how widening divisions in our country make it harder to get even the most sensible actions done in Congress. Legislative paralysis erodes our national preparedness and ability to face crises. This reinforces both the importance and the challenge of With Honor's mission to fight polarization in Congress with principled veteran leadership and ties directly to our legislative work. You can learn more about the laws we helped pass here.

2054 is another important and thought-provoking read. The book introduces new threats and opportunities, including striking advancements in artificial intelligence and biotechnology. This issue area has been a priority of With Honor Action as we have helped pass and provide oversight to nearly a dozen laws from the recommendations of the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence (NSCAI) that Eric Schmidt and Bob Work chaired from 2018-2021. It’s essential that we maintain a bipartisan space to evaluate serious new questions, exercise oversight on past legislation, and shape sensible forward-looking laws that protect Americans while also maintaining our national competitiveness.

More information about the book and its co-authors is below. The first 100 participants to register for the March 21st virtual meeting can receive a complimentary copy of 2054 after attending the session, courtesy of a donor who has underwritten the costs of distributing the book.
