John,
It’s crunch time. We’re a few days away from a partial government shutdown and no text has been released on a spending package.
In both the House and Senate, we’re demanding Congress fund Head Start, child care, home energy assistance, food aid for seniors, substance use treatment, and more, and keep the bills free of “poison pill” amendments that right-wingers are attempting to attach to this must-pass legislation.
Your advocacy was critical to successfully passing full-year funding bills on nutrition (fully funding WIC!) and housing less than two weeks ago. Let’s finish the job and demand Congress vote this week and provide adequate funding for human needs. Rush a contribution today to power our advocacy campaign.

John,
Both the House and Senate must vote on government funding bills this week or we’ll enter a partial government shutdown this Friday at midnight.
In this week’s bills, we expect full-year funding for Head Start, which provides critical education, health, and nutrition services for low-income children; funding for the Child Care and Development Block Grant program to keep skyrocketing child care costs affordable for low-income and working families; home heating and cooling assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP); and more.
In the House, we’re fighting back against right-wing attempts to cut funding for these critical programs. In the Senate, we’re fighting back against “poison pill” amendments, which we expect right-wingers to try and ram through in last-minute Senate votes.
When Congress passed the first round of funding bills 10 days ago, we successfully funded programs for low-income families such as housing and nutrition while defeating anti-immigrant amendments. This week is expected to be even harder.
Rush a donation today to power our campaign demanding adequate funding for human needs and opposing “poison pill” amendments that right-wing senators are attempting to add to must-pass funding bills this week.

Thank you for your support to power our campaign for human needs.
