Appearing on a garbage, right-wing talk radio show hosted by one of his former aides, the racist, xenophobic philanderer said, "I actually think they hate Israel. Any Jewish person that votes for Democrats hates their religion. They hate everything about Israel, and they should be ashamed of themselves because Israel will be destroyed." We'd call it 2nd-grade rhetoric, but then that would be offensive to 7-year-olds.

Donald Trump can’t pay $464 million bond in New York fraud case
Surprise, surprise, surprise. The big, tough, gold-plated business guy who has spent years bragging about his many billions of dollars is now claiming it's a "practical impossibility" to come up with the $464 million needed to meet bond on the appeal of his massive civil fraud conviction. Unless the serially indicted fraudster wants New York Attorney General Letitia James to seize his assets, he must post bond by providing the court with the full amount owed in judgment. According to Trump's OWN brief, his team contacted 30 bond companies, but few of them would even "consider a bond of anything approaching" $464 million, nor would they "accept hard assets such as real estate as collateral." Barring intervention from an appellate court, Trump will be required to pay the full judgment on March 25, or James will be able to seize assets equaling the staggering amount owed. Tsk, tsk.

Jewish lawmakers rage at Trump's "revolting" comments
The disgraced ex-president's most recent incredibly stupid and inflammatory comments on Monday that "any Jewish person that votes for Democrats hates their religion" was met with a swift and fierce backlash from incensed Jewish Democrats in Congress who, in fact, do not hate Israel. Democrats routinely win Jewish voters by wide margins, with Trump attracting just 30% of the Jewish vote in 2016 and 27% in 2020, according to a Pew Research Center analysis. And of the 33 Jewish members of Congress, just two are Republicans. It's almost as if — now, hear us out — adults with basic critical-thinking skills can love and support a country and its people while also strongly opposing actions taken and policies implemented by that nation's government. Complicated, we know.

6 former Mississippi law officers to be sentenced for torture of 2 Black men
Six former Mississippi law enforcement officers who pleaded guilty to a long list of state and federal charges for torturing two Black men for hours will be sentenced by a federal judge starting Tuesday. The former law officers admitted in August to subjecting Michael Corey Jenkins and Eddie Terrell Parker to numerous acts of racially motivated, violent torture. In January 2023, the group of six burst into a Rankin County home without a warrant and assaulted Jenkins and Parker for hours. Once inside, they handcuffed the two innocent victims together and poured milk, alcohol, and chocolate syrup over their faces. The officers then forced them to strip naked and shower together to conceal the mess. They mocked Jenkins and Parker with racial slurs, shocked them with stun guns, and — after a mock execution went awry when Jenkins was shot in the mouth — devised a coverup that included planting drugs and a gun. False charges stood against Jenkins and Parker for months. Jenkins suffered a lacerated tongue and broken jaw from his gunshot wound and still has trouble speaking and eating. Months before federal prosecutors announced charges in August 2023, an investigation by The Associated Press linked some of the deputies to at least four violent encounters with Black men since 2019 that left two dead and another with lasting injuries. May the judge show these heartless criminals no mercy.

The disgraced ex-president is reportedly considering a role for Manafort at the 2024 Republican convention in Milwaukee in July and could tap the convicted felon to help bilk MAGA minions out of even more money to ~~help pay his staggering legal bills~~ fund his presidential campaign.

In Havana syndrome patients, NIH scientists find no physical trace of harm
Two rigorous government studies found no unusual pattern of injury or disease in the brains of people with the mysterious cluster of symptoms known as Havana syndrome. The studies involved more than 80 government employees and family members who experienced "anomalous health incidents" while stationed in countries including Cuba, China, Austria, and the United States. Many of the individuals had reported hearing odd sounds or sensing pressure before suddenly developing symptoms including vertigo, loss of balance, and ear pain. While some government officials have suggested the symptoms were the result of attacks by other nations, perhaps using a weapon that directed electromagnetic energy at individuals, the National Institutes of Health did not find any evidence supporting that idea. Instead, it found that the brains of affected people were no different than the brains of similar people who hadn't reported symptoms.

The Dwight D. Opperman Foundation, which has presented the award since 2020, turned heads last week after it was revealed that the award which was launched to recognize prominent women would be given to...Elon Musk, Rupert Murdoch, Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone (why not?), and billionaire convicted felon Michael Milken — who was pardoned by Donald Trump in 2020. Just one woman had been selected to be honored with the award in 2024 — celebrity chef Martha Stewart. Ginsburg’s family called the "slate of awardees" an "affront to the memory of our mother and grandmother."

NYC Mayor Eric Adams accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 1993
New York City Mayor Eric Adams was accused in a lawsuit Monday of sexually assaulting a woman in 1993 and demanding a sexual favor in exchange for his help advancing her career in the police department. Adams has vehemently denied the allegations and said he does not remember ever meeting the woman. According to the suit, the woman was seeking a promotion in the city’s Transit Police Department when she sought help from Adams, then a police officer and high-ranking member of the Guardians Association, a fraternal organization that advocates for Black members of law enforcement. The lawsuit says that he offered to drive her home from work and then drove to a vacant lot, where he offered to help her, but said he “also needed some help.” She said that while sitting in the parked car, Adams demanded oral sex. The case was brought under the Adult Survivors Act, a New York law that extended the time limit to bring sexual assault lawsuits. The woman first entered her claim this past November, just ahead of the law’s expiration, but did not provide any details about the alleged assault at the time.
