Editorial: Casar's grid proposal would keep the power running in Texas

Three years ago, Winter Storm Uri unleashed disaster in Texas. Nearly 10 million people faced unprecedented power outages. Hundreds of people tragically lost their lives to the extreme cold. Thousands more were left without power, heat and access to drinkable water. The devastation rivaled that of the most destructive U.S. hurricanes, highlighting our energy infrastructure's vulnerabilities to extreme weather.

One thing was clear: The failure of Texas's power grid was a preventable, man-made disaster.

Jane PAC-endorsed Rep. Greg Casar is not waiting for the next crisis. He knows we need to act now. It's why he proposed the Connect the Grid Act — a visionary bill aimed at integrating Texas's power grid with the nation's major electric grids.
